New Plaza Cinema Announces 5-Week Independent Film Festival in Lincoln Square
Carrying on the tradition of the former Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, New Plaza Cinema has announced a selection of films to screen between Wednesday, December 26 and Sunday, February 3. The films will be shown in the 260 seat screening room at the Auditorium of New York Institute of Technology (Broadway at 62nd Street). The organization will be screening three or four films per day.
 
This program will feature a selection of recent national critics' award winners and Academy Award contenders, including several critically acclaimed features: Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Boy Erased, The Old Man and the Gun, and First Reformed. Plus, the program will also feature several highly praised documentaries: Free SoloWon't You Be My Neighbor?Maria by Callas, and Three Identical Strangers. Additionally, New Plaza Cinema has plans to screen a more controversial piece by Bernardo Bertolucci: Last Tango in Paris.
