New York Jewish Film Festival 2017
The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will continue a successful partnership this month with the 26th edition of the New York Jewish Film Festival. From Wednesday, January 11 to Tuesday, January 24, this festival will showcase  the finest contemporary narrative and documentary films from around the world that explore the diversity of Jewish experience.
 
The 2017 festival features an engaging lineup of films and shorts from the iconic to the iconoclastic, including global, U.S., and New York premieres. More specifically, you can enjoy such pieces as Aida's Secrets, the documentary of a displaced Jewish family fractured by war learning about their personal history; a free, illustrated tribute honoring  actress and cabaret artist Valeska Gert; a 50th anniversary screening of Mel Brooks's  The ProducersThe Women's Balcony, a dramedy about women speaking truth to patriarchal power and community tradition in Israel; and many more captivating films. Plus, there will also be a  related poster exhibition honoring the life and work of Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.
