11 Days Until New York's Largest Holiday Festival

It's almost time to light Lincoln Square's holiday tree and welcome the holiday season on the Upper West Side with everyone's favorite annual tradition: Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. The Lincoln Square BID has been working hard to plan a fantastic evening of fun, so with Monday, November 26 right around the corner, it's time to start planning how you'll enjoy New York's largest holiday festival.

The event begins with a fantastic tree lighting ceremony, beginning at 5:30pm at Broadway and 63rd Street, featuring Master of Ceremonies Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie & the Guthrie Family, the Young People's Chorus of New York City, The Metropolitan Opera, and WABC-TV's Amy Freeze. Plus, throughout the district during the rest of the evening, there will be tons of amazing music, multicultural dance troupes, jugglers, stilt walkers, street theater and more! You won't want to miss Maurice 'Mobetta' Brown at the American Folk Art Museum, the Café Wha? Band at the TD Bank Dance Tent, Spanglish Fly and Frank London's Klezmer Brass Allstars at the Dante Park Main Stage, and The Nashville Attitude and Theo Croker 'Afrosonic' at the Richard Tucker Park Stage. These are just a few of the talented musicians that will perform during the event along with other acts. Head over to our official website, www.winterseve.nyc, and check out all of the entertainment lined-up for the evening.

Also, Winter's Eve is chock-full of family fun for kids of all ages. Raymour & Flanigan will open their doors to host our main children's venue Kids' Central, with performances from Mister G, a Latin GRAMMY Award winning children's musician, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show. Inside of the store, there will also be tables full of arts and crafts, activities, and more. Film Society of Lincoln Center will be screening the classic holiday movie Prancer for free with complimentary popcorn for attendees. And you can head to Tisch WNET Studios for tours and a meet and greet with some Sesame Streetfriends. There's so much to do with the whole family at Winter's Eve. Click here to see more kids activities and info.

You can also use the Winter's Eve website to figure out what restaurants you want to visit during the Winter's Eve Food Tastings. Click here to view details about our three outdoor locations and to find out what delicious samples you'll be able to taste! We also have a whole roster of holiday cheer happening during the event at local businesses and NFPs. Click here to see the list of in-store fun happening for the evening.

Programs for the evening will be available online in the coming days. Stop by the Information Tent at Broadway and 63rd Street during Winter's Eve for a hard copy of the program or find one of our many volunteers or a staff member as you stroll along Broadway and enjoy the holiday spirit of this fantastic festival. There will also be large blow-up maps of the evenings festivities, showing venues and set times for your convenience, at various locations during the event.
