The GREEN may have been taken down at Lincoln Center’s plaza, but Restart Stages is still going on for one more month! Below are a few events to put on your calendar for next week.

On Sunday, September 12, Lincoln Center is presenting To Be Baptized: A Performance Tribute to John Lewis and C.T. Vivian. The event will feature live music and a reading of The Baptism, written by Carl Hancock Rux, and a thought-provoking panel discussion on the role of the arts in helping us tackle critical issues and imagine a more perfect future.

September is Hunger Action Month, and Lincoln Center is continuing their partnership with the Food Bank for New York City for a Free Food Distribution on Tuesday, September 14. Anyone in need may stop by to receive an assortment of fresh produce and shelf stable grocery items. Plus, enjoy some live music while you’re there!

And on Thursday, September 16, Lincoln Center is presenting Sancocho, a vibrant work of musical theater that celebrates the power of ancestry and the medicinal wonders of food. Conceived and co-written by Rhina Valentin, Sancocho features an all-woman latinx cast alongside the artistry of jazz soulstress Jenn Jade Ledesna, bachatera Andre Veloz, tap dance sensation Michela Marino Lerman, and la ballerina Elisa Toro Franky.

To attend Restart Stages outdoor ticketed events, guests (12 years or older) will be required to provide full proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. Learn more here. To get seats for a performance, general admission tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning one hour before the show. Or enter for a chance to win assigned seats via the TodayTix Lottery. Entries close three days before a performance at 12:59pm. Click here to find more upcoming Restart Stages events.
