NYC Marathon Advisory 2018

This year the New York City Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 4 and leading up to the five borough-wide event, which begins in Staten Island and ends in Central Park on the Upper West Side, there are a number of closures and other street activity of which local New Yorkers should be aware.

Specifically in the Lincoln Square area, where the Marathon will end near Tavern on the Green along Central Park West, there are a number of street closures that will impact local residents. On Sunday, November 4 in anticipation of the Marathon, the following street closures will take effect in our area

* 6:00 am: Central Park West (59th Street-77th Street)
* 8:00 am: Central Park West (77th Street-85th Street)
* 8:00 am: Broadway (all lanes) between Columbus Circle and 65th Street

Residents living between Central Park West and Broadway/Columbus Avenue on 61st Street through 66th Street will be able to access their homes via sidewalk only and will need to provide proof of residence to NYPD to gain access.

Additionally, there will be no parking through Tuesday, November 6 at 7:00pm on Central Park West between 67th Street and 69th Street, which went into effect this past weekend. Also, beginning Thursday, November 1 at 8:00am, there will be no parking on Central Park West from 63rd Street to 67th Street (West side of the Street) nor on Central Park West from 74th Street to 77th Street (East side of the Street). This will remain in effect until Sunday, November 4.
