NYC Pride 2020

June is Pride Month, and while this year’s Pride may look a little bit different than previous years, there are still a lot of ways that New Yorkers can celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!

Throughout the month, NYC Pride is hosting a number of official Pride events, with focuses including food, politics & rights, parties, music, art, and film and more! And, on Sunday, June 28, WABC-TV, our local media partner, will be broadcasting an NYC Pride Commemoration Special from noon-2:00pm to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Pride March held in 1970. The free event will feature a wide array of musical performances and celebrity appearances, and is hosted by WABC’s Ken Rosato and Lauren Glassberg with special guest co-host Carson Kressley. You can watch on Channel 7, on abc7ny.com, the station's free news and connected TV apps, as well as on the ABC News Live channel!

In honor of Pride Month, Lincoln Center is illuminating their plaza with a light installation featuring a rainbow design, in addition to flying the Pride flag in the center of campus. The lights become viewable around dusk and shine through the night. These activations acknowledge the histories, struggles, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ communities and celebrate the full spectrum of queer identity.

In addition, Lincoln Center will be highlighting the work of LGBTQ+ artists as part of their broader commitment to raising up diverse artistic perspectives. This week, join Lincoln Center for a streaming of the acclaimed musical Falsettos, which celebrates love in its many facets; watch conversations that explore the queer experience in cinemacurated by Film at Lincoln Center; and enjoy a performance by Afrofuturistic music duo The Illustrious Blacks that fuses Disco, House, and Electronic dance sounds in celebration of Pride. Happy Pride!
