There have been some press reports recently regarding an uptick in crime on the Upper West Side. While the most recent incidents occurred just outside the district, Lincoln Square remains a safe and friendly neighborhood thanks in large part to the dedicated work of the officers of the 20th Precinct under the leadership of Deputy Inspector Timothy Malin. CompStat points out that the 20th Precinct is down 8% in major crime year to date, ahead of the curve of citywide crime which is down just under 2% year to date.

The Lincoln Square BID’s Clean Team and Public Safety Officers, while not crime fighters, also serve as vigilant “eyes and ears” in the neighborhood, reporting anything unusual. We take great pride in our excellent working relationship with the 20th Precinct and we look forward to collaboratively keeping Lincoln Square clean, beautiful, and SAFE!
