Package Theft Prevention Tips

As more people are online shopping, package theft has become a more prominent issue over the past few months. And, as the holiday season approaches, package delivery issues are expected to increase.

According to the 20th Precinct, many package thefts have occurred on the side streets between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West within the 20th Precinct where packages are left unattended.

There are many steps you can take to prevent package theft. Always actively track your shipment online and schedule packages to arrive when you are home. You can also request the delivery service to hold your package for pick-up at their facility, such as the UPS Store (163 Amsterdam Avenue between West 67th and West 68th Streets; (212) 362-3740) or Amazon Pickup Hub in Whole Foods (10 Columbus Circle).
