Participatory Budgeting 2017

It's time to vote on how you want to spend $1 million to improve your New York City neighborhood and amenities! As the Lincoln Square BID touches both District 6 and District 3 for the New York City Council, Councilmembers Helen Rosenthal and Corey Johnson both have a roster of projects for 2017 worthy of funding from the New York City Council this year through Participatory Budgeting. Every fall, volunteers on behalf of the City Council field suggestions about projects to improve area public spaces—parks, schools, streets, libraries, and public housing—for potential funding. Then each spring, everyone who lives in each community or attends high school in each community can vote on the projects that made it to the final ballots for each district’s Participatory Budgeting. You can vote for multiple projects and the winners will receive funding. (To find out which City Council district you live in and are eligible to vote in, click here.)

For a list of projects to choose from in District 6, visit Councilmember Rosenthal’s website here.
For a list of projects to choose from in District 3, visit Councilmember Johnson’s website here.

Each of the Councilmembers’ sites details voting locations and registration details, as well as details about the ballot items. Voting in all districts will begin on Saturday, March 25 and stay open until Sunday, April 2.
