Plan a Post-Work Friday Happy Hour in the Neighborhood

It's finally Friday and you're ready for some pre-dinner drinks to get your weekend started or unwind from a long week. Good news! Lincoln Square has a number of happy hour spots perfect for Friday evening, especially as summer arrives.

Also, if you'd like to mix it up a bit and add some culture and music to your post-work activity, head to the American Folk Art Museum (2 Lincoln Square) for the Free Music Fridays series. Most Fridays, the event begins at 5:30pm and features three acts. There is no admission fee, but there is a donation-based cash wine bar so you can enjoy live music and sip on a glass of wine right after work. Check out upcoming Free Music Fridays here. You can also head to the bookstore Shakespeare & Co. (2020 Broadway) after work for some wine and beer in the cafe as you read or enjoy the ambiance.

 

Of course, Lincoln Square is home to a number of high-end cocktail bars as well as restaurant bars that are neighborhood staples. For example, long-time neighborhood spot Gabriel's Bar and Restaurant (11 West 60th Street) was recently featured in a New York Times article, receiving praise for being a place to grab a drink where "everyone knows your name". Though it will be relocating as of July 31, we hope Gabriel's won't move far. Head there while you can still grab a glass of wine or cocktail and enjoy its welcoming atmosphere.
