POPS Reopen July 1
Jun 29, 2021Do you know what a POPS is? They are public spaces that are privately owned and maintained for public enjoyment aka Privately-Owned Public Spaces (POPS). These spaces were created through zoning incentives that sought to ensure that the densest areas of the City have open, green spaces. Last June, the Mayor suspended certain zoning requirements for POPS to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
But this week on Thursday, July 1, NYC POPS will reopen to the public for their approved hours. We have many wonderful POPS in Lincoln Square, some of which are hidden gems and many are already open and offering great places to sit throughout the neighborhood. Now that they're reopening, take a moment to enjoy these public spaces, listed below:
- The Bel Canto at 1991 Broadway
- Two Lincoln Square at 2 Lincoln Square
- 30 Lincoln Plaza at 1886 Broadway
