Pride in Lincoln Square – June 2022

This June, Lincoln Square's cultural institutions and businesses are celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with PRIDE events, merchandise, specials, and more.  There's no doubt that the party starts under the 10' disco ball at The Oasis - the city’s largest outdoor dance floor - on Lincoln Center's plaza with dances and silent discos all month long as part of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City.  LGBTQIA+ Pride events at The Oasis include "A Tribute to Paradise Garage and Larry Levan with Victor Rosado" on Wednesday, June 22 at 4:00pm; a social dance celebration of timeless 90s club culture on Thursday, June 23 at 6:00pm; and the "Mini Kiki Ball" presented in collaboration with BAAD! on Friday, June 24 at 8:00pm. The "Criminal Queerness Festival" will take place at the David Rubenstein Atrium on Wednesday, June 22 and Friday, June 24 at 7:30pm. Click here to see the full calendar of events at Lincoln Center

At Columbus Circle, you can get Pride patches at Moleskine and merchandise at Coach while several other shops, including H&MTed Baker London and Williams Sonoma are supporting nonprofits that champion equal rights and fair treatment of the LGBTQIA+ community. Note that West Elm and Pottery Barn further north on Broadway are supporting the Trevor Project, too.  At Dizzy's Club, Bryan Carter presents JAZZ AT PRIDE: NYC on Monday, June 27 at 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Bryan Carter presented the inaugural Jazz at Pride event in 2019 featuring guest vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers and comedians in front of a 23-piece jazz orchestra. The concert event makes a triumphant return after a brief hiatus due to COVID and celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community within the jazz community.

Across the circle, the team at Jean-Georges has created a special cocktail to enjoy at select Jean-Georges restaurants, incuding NOUGATINE. For every cocktail sold, Jean-Georges will be donating $1 to the Ali Forney Center in an effort to champion their ongoing efforts.
