Running is a great form of exercise that doesn't require a gym membership. With fall weather finally here, running outside in NYC can be a refreshing and energizing experience, especially with a team to help motivate you. In our district two businesses are organizing special runs both to help you train for the NYC Marathon and/or to help you get into a healthy running routine.

Join NYRC by JackRabbit for a series of free NYC Marathon events between Monday, October 28 and Monday, November 4. Beginning on October 28, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm meeting at the store inside of The Shops at Columbus Circle, join JackRabbit and Nike for a fun night of lite speed work and the opportunity to demo the Next% and Pegasus shoes. Other events include a run and Q&A session with 2014 Boston Marathon Winner - Med Keflexighi, a Halloween themed run, and more. Click here to view a full list of events and links to RSVP. This year, the NYC Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 3.

There are also two more free Saturday runs scheduled with lululemon Columbus Circle on October 19 and October 26. On these Saturday mornings, head out for a long run, lead by coaches who will have a route for you to follow where you can add or remove miles depending on your training needs. Post run, the store inside of The Shops at Columbus Circle will have recovery options to help you get back on your feet and running as soon as possible.

At both of these stores you can purchase workout gear and running shoes to keep you exercising in comfort and style. These are also good opportunities to meet other local runners. Contact each store for other events and workout opportunities.
