Attention Property Owners! As New York City public schools prepare to reopen safely in September, the School Construction Authority (SCA) is seeking sites to use as classroom/instructional, early childhood, and child care/after-school space.

The sites must meet the following requirements:

  • no higher than four stories,
  • contain rooms no less than 650 square feet in size,
  • dedicated entrances,
  • dedicated bathrooms,
  • code compliant, and
  • can house programs serving children from three years old to approximately 14 years

Preference for spaces that have at least four rooms, but prefer larger where possible. While outdoor play space is not mandatory it would be preferred.

SCA is seeking a one year license agreement with a one year renewal option. Financial terms will be determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on size of the space, location, condition of the space and all other factors affecting value. Ideally, SCA would like to identify move-in ready spaces that can be occupied with little to no work this September. Preference will be given to sites that are feasible, require little to no work and make economic sense for the City.
