Snow Alert & Open Restaurants Info: 1/28-1/30

The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) has issued a Snow Alert for the weekend, beginning 4:00pm on Friday, January 28, 2022. The alert is in effect through all of Saturday (1/29) and into Sunday morning (1/30). A Snow Alert is the Department’s “higher-level” winter weather message, as opposed to the “lower-level” Winter Operations Advisory.

During a Snow Alert, Open Restaurants are required to cease roadway dining, and sidewalk dining is discouraged.

  • Diners may not sit in roadway setups. Please remove or secure any tables and chairs. If possible, you are encouraged to also temporarily remove any sidewalk setups, tables, and chairs as well.
  • All heaters in outdoor setups must be removed.
  • You are recommended to remove any overhead coverings if possible, or regularly remove any snow until the Snow Alert ends
