Are you looking for ways that you can make a difference during the COVID-19 pandemic from your own home? With DOROT’s Caring Calls program, you can practice physical distancing, but maintain social connections with weekly calls to seniors who are in isolation.

A phone visit can go a long way! Your service to older adults is especially important right now. DOROT has created a new Caring Calls Program to continue their critical work to build social connections between the generations. During the COVID-19 global health crisis, a time when face-to-face contact is no longer a safe option, DOROT is building community bonds and interacting with seniors by phone. DOROT is looking for volunteers to call older adults once or twice a week for four weeks. To be eligible for volunteering, volunteers must be 18 years or older and be committed to a 30-minute phone call once or twice week.

To ensure the success of these calls, new volunteers must participate in a short online orientation session and provide two electronic references. Click here to register to volunteer for the Caring Calls Program. Stay safe and stay connected!
