Soup Spots in Lincoln Square

February is a mighty cold month, but several fast casual spots in Lincoln Square can warm you up during your weekday lunch break. 

 Breads Bakery, a bakery cafe with seating at 1890 Broadway, offers soup of the day specials along with a delicious lunch menu of salads and sandwiches, like quinoa salad or brie and olive sandwich on rye bread, in addition to their amazing bakery sweets. Enjoy a cup and sit at one of their cafe tables, enjoying views of Broadway through the store's large windows.

Located at 60 West 65th Street Le Pain Quotidien offers a soup of the day as well as hot chicken soup with vegetables and quinoa, served with harissa. The rest of the lunch menu is full of hearty choices like a vegetable or ham quiche or warm goat cheese salad. There is cozy seating inside or you can grab a meal to go. 

Around the corner at 136 Columbus Avenue, Europan Cafe has a rotating menu of hot, savory soups daily, served with fresh homemade bread. The rest of the menu offers pastries and a number of different wraps and paninis among other foods for those on the go. The cafe has some indoor seating too, so you don't have to go far to enjoy lunch. 

In the concourse of The Shops at Columbus Circle, Whole Foods Market has an entire self-serving bar that serves several types of soup daily. Often the store offers a chicken noodle or chicken rice soup, a vegetable based soup, and other chowders. Plus, there are several other food bars, including hot food and salad, that will pair well with your soup choice.

Also in The Shops at Columbus Circle on the third floor, Bouchon Bakery's lunch menu has two tasty soup options: San Marzano tomato soup and chicken soup with market vegetables. Otherwise, the lunch menu has several salad and sandwich options as well as charcuterie & fromage plates. There is ample cafe seating near the counter. 

Also in the neighborhood, fast casual deli Melissa's Gourmet offers soups and sandwiches daily. Melissa's, at 1879 Broadway, has an extensive lunch selection including daily soup options. You can order soup and a sandwich combinations or just a cup of delicious soup to go. Melissa's does not have any seating, but you can take your hot lunch up just a block to the David Rubenstein Atrium and enjoy ample seating for a lunchtime break. 

Also at the David Rubenstein Atrium is a great lunch spot, 'Wichcraft. The lunch menu offers tomato soup, a rotating soup of the day, and others plus a special soup and a 1/2 sandwich deal with either a tuna or chickpea hummus sandwich. Otherwise, you can grab a savory sandwich or salad and sit.

At Nanoosh, located at 2012 Broadway, you can enjoy homemade, belly-warming soups which are made homestyle in small batches using fresh vegetables, onions, garlic and herbs. Tomato and Moroccan lentil soups are always kept piping hot, but seasonal soups are also available.

This February weather won't chill you to the bone with all of the great lunch spots to grab hot soup in Lincoln Square.
