Spend Your Summer in Lincoln Square

We're headed into the middle of summer and there's no better place to spend time during these warm weeks than Lincoln Square. Not only is this neighborhood bustling with shoppers, workers, residents and visitors, but Lincoln Square has a ton of outdoor spaces at which to enjoy the weather in addition to great programming and amenities.

Right now, our local green spaces are in full bloom presenting lush and colorful shrubs and flowers. Our Broadway Malls between 60th and 70th Streets are filled with such garden gems as white Zinnia and deep velvety Coleus in 'Inky Fingers' plus many more seasonal flowers and shrubs. And also throughout the center medians you'll see massive, hearty Oakleaf Hydrangea. This season's color palette features a profusion of pink, purple, and lime with a splash of white and rich deep greens, offering the neighborhood succulent streetscape along Broadway. Plus, look around Lincoln Square and you'll find gorgeous pink Petunias, dazzling red Roses, and more within our 55 district planters, many of which define and provide extra allure to the seating areas of Dante Park and Richard Tucker Park.

Speaking of our parks, both locations are wonderful little oases in which you can enjoy a rest or meal during the day. The BID provides movable tables and chairs and large shade umbrellas for visitors, residents and all who want a spot to stop and rest. And, every Wednesday in Richard Tucker Park, from noon until 2:00pm, we host free Lunchtime Concerts that showcase local city musicians.  These concerts are made possible by support from TD Bank and through a partnership with the MTA's MUSIC program. Plus, each week, our Information Ambassadors at Richard Tucker Park staff "Fun Fridays". So, from noon until 6:00pm on Fridays, anyone can enjoy free games like Jenga and life-sized Connect 4 in the park.

But the opportunity for good times doesn't stop there. Of course, many of Lincoln Square's delicious eateries offer comfortable outdoor seating throughout the neighborhood and Lincoln Center offers fabulous summer events. Lincoln Center Out Of Doors begins later this month, which packs free, live music and perfoamnce into three lively weeks. And of course there is the annual Mostly Mozart Festival which offers classical music performances to beat the summer city heat and Lincoln Center Festival which offers live music and dance performance across Lincoln Center's campus for additional summer fun. There is a lot to explore around this vibrant neighborhood.

You can stay updated on activities and news in Lincoln Square through our website and events calendar and through social media. Never miss an opportunity to love Lincoln Square, especially while summer is here.
