Spring Season at the New York City Ballet

April showers bring more than May flowers--they also signal the start of the New York City Ballet's (NYCB) Spring Season.
Opening Tuesday, April 24, this year's Spring Season will feature a number of beautiful performances including: two Balanchine focused shows, Black & Whiteand All Balanchine, both of which are curated collections from Balanchine's choreography repertoire; a Spring Gala celebrating famed choreographer Jerome Robbins and featuring two world premiere ballets and a cocktail reception; and much more. Rounding out the end of the season, patrons can enjoy performances of Coppélia, which is considered one of the greatest comic ballets of the 19th Century. The Spring Season will conclude on Saturday, June 2 with a final performance of Coppélia.
Also part of this season, to mark the centennial of co-founding choreographer Jerome Robbin's birth, the NYCB has assembled a collection of some of his most celebrated works which will include three weeks of 22 ballets, 6 programs, and 2 premieres. In conjunction with the Ballet's celebration of Jerome Robbins this season,
the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, in partnership with the Jerome Robbins Foundation, will present an illuminated exhibition, "Robbins at Night," featuring images of the dancing career and choreography of Jerome Robbins sourced exclusively from the collections of the Dance Division. The exhibition will coincide with the Spring Season of the NYCB and be on display on the plaza in front of the Library each evening starting at 6:00pm.
