Street Closures & Other Info for the Weekend of 4/28-4/29

This coming Sunday, April 29, the March of Dimes, aka the March for Babies, will begin at 10:00am and is expected to draw 5,000 people. Registration begins at 8:30am on Columbus Avenue between 62nd Street and 65th Street, with the march route starting at 65th and Columbus, then heading east on 65th Street and into Central Park. Click here to see a map of the event. There will also be a Street Fair on Columbus Avenue between 66th and 72nd Street on that same day. 

There will be some street closures this Sunday for the March of Dimes Event and Columbus Avenue Street Fair that will affect traffic in the 20th Precinct and the Upper West Side. Read the following street closures to help you avoid driving in circles:

  • Columbus Ave from West 61st – West 72nd Streets
  • West 65th Street from Columbus Ave - Central Park West 
  • West 63rd Street from Columbus Ave – Broadway
  • West 62nd Street from Columbus Ave – Amsterdam Ave
  • West 62nd Street from Columbus Ave - Broadway

Also, the Citi Bike Station at West 63rd Street and Columbus Avenue (Dante Park) will be deactivated.

In addition to these two large events on Sunday, there is a 1 block street fair taking place on the east side of Brodway between 60th and 61st Streets on Saturday, April 28, sponsored by the Central Park Precinct Community Council from 10:00am-6:00pm.
