This summer, Lincoln Center has planned a festival from mid-May to mid-August meant to celebrate New York City and programmed around themes of rejoicing, reclaiming and remembering within a city transformed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Called Summer for the City, the festival will take place across 10 outdoor spaces and three indoor stages on Lincoln Center’s campus featuring over 300 free events.

Summer for the City has been curated to help deepen Lincoln Center’s service to particular communities, expanding offerings for families with concerts, workshops, Storytimes, and Family Dance Days. The campus will also host dozens of pop-up performances, wellness events, graduations, voter engagement and polling, blood drives, and more as part of the summer season. In addition to utilizing Hearst Plaza and Damrosch Park for outdoor events, Lincoln Center will also erect a dance floor in the center of the Josie Robertson Plaza, called The Oasis, with a 10-foot disco ball. The jam-packed summer kicks off with Sing New York, a joyful outdoor singalong for hundreds of New Yorkers on Saturday, May 14 and continues on with Pride month events, dance parties, a group wedding celebration, the Mostly Mozart Festival, open air cinema nights, and so much more!

We are excited for the resurgence of great fun on Lincoln Center’s Campus. Check out the Summer for the City website for details on events, venues, and safety policies.
