The Metropolitan Opera Announces the 2017-2018 Season

The Metropolitan Opera just announced the 2017-18 season. The new season will feature 220 performances of 26 works, including two Met premieres.
The season opens on Monday, September 25 with Vincenzo Bellini's Norma directed by Sir David McVicar and starring Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role. Thomas Adès will conduct the North American premiere of his new opera The Exterminating Angel, co-commissioned by the Met, beginning Thursday, October 26. Rare revivals include Rossini's Semiramide, last performed at the Met in 1993, which will return in February 2018.
