Two Exhibits Now Open at the American Folk Art Museum
Two new exhibits are now on view at the American Folk Art Museum. Both Eugen Gabritschevsky: Theater of the Imperceptible and Carlo Zinelli (1916-1974) will be on display until Sunday, August 20.

Eugen Gabritschevsky: Theater of the Imperceptible features the work of the Russian-born artist Eugen Gabritschevsky whose successful career in science was cut short by the deterioration of his mental health, leading to his admission into a psychiatric hospital in Germany in 1931. This first in-depth exhibition of Gabritschevsky's relatively unknown artistic contribution is composed of more than eighty artworks, a film, publications, and archival documents.

Carlo Zinelli (1916-1974) is the first museum exhibition of the revered Italian artist in the United States. The show highlights four distinct phases in Zinelli's oeuvre and new scholarship, through a selection of fifty-five paintings (many displayed double-sided), audio recordings, a film, and images by Life magazine photographer John Phillips.

The American Folk Art Museum is located at 2 Lincoln Square, on Columbus Avenue between 65th and 66th Streets. Admission is free. See all of the museum's upcoming events at folkartmuseum.org
