Water Main Break Update 1.16.20

Update, 6:30PM: Broadway is back OPEN to traffic between W. 61 Street and W. 65th Street.

Monday’s water main break affected many of Lincoln Square’s businesses, organizations and residential buildings. The west side of Broadway between 61st & 63rd Streets and Columbus Avenue between 61st and 63rd Streets were especially impacted by the flooding.  Southbound Broadway between 65th Street and 61st Street is open (updated, 6:30pm); 62nd Street between Broadway and Columbus Avenue remains closed.

The following businesses are open:

• TKTS Lincoln Center (enter on Columbus Avenue)
• Rosa Mexicano (61 Columbus Avenue)
• Duane Reade (1889 Broadway)
• Starbucks (1889 Broadway)
• The Empire Hotel (44 West 63rd Street)

The following remain closed until further notice:

• AAA (1881 Broadway)
• TD Bank (1873 Broadway)
• TD Ameritrade (1881 Broadway)
• New York Sports Club (61 West 62nd Street)
• NYIT Auditorium (1871 Broadway)
• Melissa’s Gourmet Deli (62 West 62nd Street)

Additionally, many residential buildings in the neighborhood remain without essential services.
