We ❤️ NYC, Yes We Do!
Mar 30, 2023We ❤️ NYC, yes we do! We ❤️ NYC, how about you?
On Monday, March 20, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and the Partnership for New York City launched the “We ❤️ NYC” campaign, a 21st Century version of the 1977 I ❤️ NY campaign.
The goal of this campaign is to "celebrate what makes NYC great and empower New Yorkers to spread love by becoming more civically engaged." Part of this includes an initiative called "Spread Love NYC," which will empower New Yorkers to participate in both one-hour or long-term volunteer projects to help improve the city, prioritizing public safety, support for small businesses, caring for parks, and litter cleanups. The campaign involves several partnerships with public agencies and nonprofits across the city and aims to achieve a safer, more livable, and more business-friendly city. All things the Lincoln Square BID cares about too!
Community members will be able to participate in activities like caring for their local parks, community clean-ups across the five boroughs, and voting on performers authorized to entertain in subway stations. Also planned are small business promotions, like "Shop Black," and a competition to identify the best menu items offered by local restaurants. New Yorkers will be able to sign up to volunteer with community organizations from all over the city online here, and organizations can also register there to post volunteer opportunities as well.
You can learn more about the “We ❤️ NYC” campaign here. You can celebrate and nominate do-ers, submit a poster design for the campaign, and sign up to do something for NYC on the website too.
We urge everyone to participate and show their love for the city we love!
