Wednesday Workout - Mind and Body!

Don't let the midweek slump get you! There are tons of virtual activities to enjoy right from your own bedroom, living room, or any room on Wednesdays. With help of programming from local organizations, let's jump into a Wednesday schedule to keep you active and entertained:

Wake up and stretch it out! It can be hard to stay active when you're staying indoors, but Senior Planet (for those 60 and older) has daily Morning Stretches at 10:00am you can sign up for free of charge. This class will guide you through 30 minutes of simple stretches and breathing meditations to help you start your day with a sense of calm. Join the class with this Zoom link. If you'd like something a bit more involved, check out Corepower Yoga's YouTube channel for free yoga and meditative classes for all levels. You can access them at any time, so schedule your own morning session to start your day with wellness in mind.

Afterwards, prepare to spend the afternoon with two of Lincoln Center's notable talents: Wynton Marsalis, Managing and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) and Wendy Whelan, Associate Artistic Director of New York City Ballet (NYCB). At 12:30pm, enjoy Wednesday with Wynton, a free live-streamed conversation on Instagram Live where Wynton dives into wide-ranging discussion, uplifting messages, and thoughts on how to stay creative during this unprecedented time. Click here to access the JALC's Instagram. Later on, at 5:30pm, tune into New York City Ballet's Instagram livestream for Wednesday with Wendy, a series of ballet-inspired movement classes suitable for people of all ages and levels of training. After the livestream is complete, the class will be available on NYCB's IGTV channel. Click here to access NYCB's Instagram. These two virtual classes will have you feeling intellectually and physically inspired by dinner time, getting you through a Wednesday at home without skipping the fun. Plus, if you're still feeling up to more entertainment after dinner, take advantage of Symphony Space's Hump Day Laugh and a Half content, a free comedy series from stand-up comedians that you can now access anytime. Click here for the videos.

Wednesday is about to become your favorite day of the week! Plan out a busy and engaging Wednesday with some great entertaining and cultural content thanks to local organizations. You can view these virtual events and more on our up-to-date Events Calendar, now organized to display all of the great virtual content in and around Lincoln Square available during the COVID-19 crisis.

Stay safe!
