West Side YMCA's Build A Backpack Program
If you're looking for a way to give back to the local community, over 400 elementary school students in Y programs at PS 191, PS 165, PS 145 and the Grosvenor Neighborhood House YMCA need school supplies to start the school year. This summer, the West Side YMCA is working on a school supplies drive for students in need called Build A Backpack. Businesses and local residents can donate necessary supplies and volunteer to help build backpacks which will help get students excited and ready to go back to school.

Items needed for donation include notebooks, pens, folders, pencils, glue, and more. All are welcome to attend the West Side YMCA's Build a Backpack Night on Wednesday, August 9 from 5:00pm-7:00pm as they assemble backpacks.

School supplies will be collected until Friday, August 4. You may drop items off in the lobby of the West Side YMCA, located at 5 West 63rd Street between Central Park West and Broadway.
