Winter Storm Watch for January 4

Winter Storm Watch for January 4
The City is preparing for the first snow of 2018! The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for NYC from 1:00am on Thursday, January 4 to Friday, January 5 at midnight. In anticipation of the expected storm, our Clean Team and Goddard Riverside Greenkeepers will be ready to tackle the snow fall, which could measure up to 8 inches. When winter weather carries snow into Lincoln Square, our hardworking crews shovel crosswalks, pedestrian crossings in the Broadway Malls, bus stops, catch basins, and fire hydrants. We ask that businesses and property owners prepare to clear snow from the sidewalks for which they are responsible in an effort to help us keep Lincoln Square safe during the inclement weather. With snow and anticipated freezing temperatures, please use caution when traveling around the City.

Additionally, Alternate Side Parking (street cleaning) regulations will be suspended Thursday and Friday, January 4 and 5 for snow operations. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect. Click here for more information.

Please also note that the Greenmarket at Richard Tucker Park will not be open on Thursday, January 4 due to the expected weather. They expect to be open on Saturday, January 6.
