YPC’s School Choruses Concert: Feel the World Dancing on June 14

Wednesday, June 14, marks the beginning of Lincoln Center's Summer for the City, which runs through Saturday, August 12, so there is about to be a lot happening on the Lincoln Center Campus.

One event that you may not have heard about, which is a part of the festival, is the Young People's Chorus of New York City’s annual YPC School Choruses Concert, Feel the World Dancing. On Thursday, June 15, at 11:00am, over 1,000 children will raise their voices in Damrosch Park to celebrate our great city and the world around us. Young singers from 15 of New York City’s public schools will showcase the culmination of their hard work throughout the year.

These talented young people will perform an energetic one-hour repertoire that spans classical, folk, pop and jazz. Audience members will have the opportunity to groove to the music too. Elizabeth Nùñez, YPC Creative Director, YPC's conductors, and Jacquelyn Bird, YPC choreographer, will lead the children in their performance. This event is free and open to the public.
