24th Annual Meeting Recap
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District (BID) held its 24th Annual Meeting via Zoom. This was our second virtual Annual Meeting and we were so pleased with the great turnout. It was terrific to see so many Board Members, businesses and not-for-profits, residents, and other partners and friends. Thank you to those who attended!

For those of you who were unable to attend, here are a few highlights: we presented our FY 2022 budget, elected Directors and Alternates to our Board, amended our Bylaws, heard from several speakers, and presented our FY 2021 Annual Report, which gives you a snapshot of the year’s efforts during this challenging time; you can download the report, which also includes our budget and Statements of Financial Position and Activities, by clicking here: FY 2021 Annual Report.

Our guest speakers were Terence Monahan, former Chief of Department for the NYPD, now the Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Public Safety, Recovery and Planning for NYC COVID Recovery; Gene Spiegelman, Vice Chairman and Principal of RIPCO Real Estate and a leader in the retail real estate industry; and Manhattan Borough President, Gale Brewer. Chief Monahan spoke about the City’s recovery task force and how different resources would be utilized to handle the variety of recovery issues across the City. Gene Spiegelman offered encouraging and optimistic remarks about the future of brick and mortar retail with a slideshow presentation, which you can view by clicking here. And Gale Brewer spoke about the amazing opportunities for the arts, which is great for tourism and uplifting for New Yorkers, and praised Lincoln Center for its Restart Stages.

We are pleased to welcome the following new Board Members: Meredith Keeler and Alternate John Bonelli from Related Companies; Yehuda Gordon from Extell Development, who will serve as an Alternate for Tony Mannarino; Brian Collins from Silverstein Properties, who will serve as an Alternate for Marty Burger; Claudia Martinez Azzara from Color Me Mine; Sebastien Silvestri and his Alternate, Dan Boyce, from the Dinex Group (Daniel Boulud Restaurants); Chris Westcott from Rosa Mexicano; and Alison Kwiatkowski from Deutsche Bank, who will serve as an Alternate for Rainer Blank.
